BELCHAM ATELIER NEW YORK

When Belgians come together.

BelCham, or the Belchian Chamber of Commerce, is a non-profit organization, founded after the First World War in 1919, with the aim of providing connection and support to Belgian companies in America. In 2013, the BelCham Atelier opened its doors near the bustling Times Square in New York. This impressive site now offers an inspiring and flexible workplace to around 250 companies as well as space for various events.

A Belgian design was therefore inevitable in the redesign of the Atelier. At the beginning of this year, Jelle and Willem traveled to Manhattan to hold a kickoff meeting with the management and a DNA assessment with the employees. Both the practical course of the working days and the culture and values of the organization were examined. Within the existing volume and with the existing techniques, a translation was then made into the ideal, physical workplace. During this project, of course, we collaborated exclusively with Belgian design companies.
